The 2006 Harvest Moon
Today is this year’s Harvest Moon which is the full moon that appears closest to the autumnal equinox. Here are some interesting facts about this month’s full moon (via Not So Fast). I thought I might try to get a few pictures out near Mount Baker. The problem that I ran into is that there isn’t really a good place to see Mount Baker from the Mout Baker Highway! I did manage to find a decent spot to get a few shots off. The cloud patterns made for a few interesting pictures. The photos can be seen over at my Flickr set: Harvest Moon 2006. While I was there I also snapped a few car trail shots that can be seen at the Flickr set as well.
I also wanted to mention that I got my 10 free Flickr MiniCards from moo.com. They are pretty cool. It would be kinda cool to get a full set of them, but not ready to spend that $20.
Great pictures Matt!!! Hope you are doing well and hope to see you again soon!
ahoy lovely photos, matt. i’m especially in like with the deep colors you were able to achieve at different times and with different light challenges.
Thanks very much. I love experimenting with different angels and lighting and shutter speed etc. Perspective is always an interesting thing!
Thanks Nancy! I am doing helping mom and Bob move this weekend. It will be cool to be in their new house!
