Mandy Patinkin

“Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you didn’t watch my tv show, prepare to die.” I am glad that Mandy Patinkin is still getting quality work (Although he won’t ever top Princess Bride). What happened to his singing career, anyone know?

I have recently started watching Criminal Minds on CBS and have been really impressed. The show is interesting and does a good job of pulling you in.

Criminal Minds revolves around an elite team of FBI profilers who analyze the country’s most twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they strike again. Special Agent Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) is the FBI’s top behavioral analyst and he joins the Behavioral Analysis Unit lead by Special Agent Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson).

Patinkin plays the quiet thinker well. Check it out!

Another show that I saw (and probably will again) is a Showtime production that apparently is a few years old (I don’t think it is still running) that the Canadian channel Showcase has picked up: Dead Like Me. This is a morbidly humorous show about a girl who dies and has to join a group of grim reapers with Patinkin at the lead (did I mention that Ellen Muth is pretty cute too?). She has to continue dealing with the struggles of a normal “life” while also carrying out duties as a reaper. The catch is that people die regardless of the touch from one of the reapers but their soul cannot leave until they have been given the touch. It will be interesting to see more of this show to see what they do with it (or I suppose I could just go rent the DVDs - it looks like there are 2 seasons). Anyone down in the states seen this show?

I LOVE Mandy Patinkin… I find it incredibly amazing that a man that was “too good” for TV is suddenly popping up everywhere. Including commericals for, I think, Lipitor. Have you seen Sunday in the Park with George? He’s brilliant.. worth a rent.

I absolutely fell in love with Dead Like Me. Ellen Muth is amazing. (She was in a lifetime movie “The Truth about Jane”)

Dead Like Me is no longer running.. it’s a real shame.. I dumped Showtime when they stopped making new episodes.
It was really true to my own beliefs about souls and dying etc. I miss the humor, charm and wit. Two seasons was it. I think it was too intelligent for many folks “down here in the states”.

It was very strange, I hadn’t seen him in a long time (I think it was since Picket Fences) and then he was everywhere (especially since Dead Like Me is now running in Canada along with Criminal Minds)! I have not seen Sunday in the Park, I guess I will ahve to check it out. I definitely look forward to seeing more of Dead. I have only seen the first episode so it is all new to me, but has looked quite enjoyable. I don’t know if it quite lines up with my notion of soul and death, but does a better job than many others have done. I am a big fan of shows that are different and intelligent and witty. One of my favorite shows, Arrested Development, I think falls into the category but also doesn’t have a large following (regardless of critical acclaim, well and my acclaim ;) ).

I love The Princess Bride! One of my all time favourite movies. Mandy Patinkin’s pictures stopped me during surfing and evoked so many favourites scenes from the movie. I haven’t seen any of these TV appearances, but will start to look for it.

Its one of my all time favorites as well, it is one that I could watch over and over again while quoting the entire way through. Glad you stopped by!

I loved Dead Like Me and thought Mandy Patinkin was a standout in a great ensemble cast. I got the whole series from Netflix. If you enjoyed that, you might also like Wonderfalls, which aired for one season on Fox and shared a producer/creator with Dead Like Me.

Patinkin still puts out albums. I bought his album “Kidults” to accompany me on babysitting gigs.

I haven’t heard of Wonderfalls before, I guess I will have to check it out!

I guess Patinkin is doing pretty well for himself then.

    Thanks for coming by. :)

I am going to miss him so much on Criminal minds. The show will never work without him

Mandy is a great actor and performer but it also seems too natural…like he’s doesn’t have to try hard for the parts because its similar to him. He seem slike the type to be a quiet thinker and his eyes hold so much emotion. He comes off as this guy who is strong and gentle, a quiet contemplater but somehow holds all the answers. It’s like all the characters he plays are an extenstion of him, it’s not just a role, it’s him. I noticed in all the roles he plays, he’s tends to be the strong quiet types, but his heart his huge and caring. A big softy. =^.^= Keep up the good work Mandy, you are great at what you do. Both on broadway and on tv. =^.^=

Mandy Patinkin is one of the best actors of this generation. He is eloquent but exciting. He captures you with each role. He has eyes that pull you in, he expresses himself without words, but with mannerisms. Anyone that loves class in this day and time, will love mandy. In the words of a true fan, He’s the one!!
